Your trophy is in the best hands.
South Africa’s seasons are completely opposite to the Northern Hemisphere. April to September is our cool, dry winter - perfect for hunting, with daytime temperatures ranging from 60–80°F/ 16-27°C and nights dropping to 40°F/ 4°C. October to March brings warmer, sometimes rainy summer conditions, with highs reaching 105°F/ 40°C, and nights ranging between 60–80°F/ 15-27°C.
Make sure to pack for changing weather and layer up for comfort in the bush.
Dream Big African Safaris are based in malaria-free areas. However, if your safari includes travel to the northeast of South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, or Mozambique, we recommend speaking with your healthcare provider about anti-malarial prophylactics. There are no mandatory vaccination requirements for South Africa, however, we recommend that you are up to date with all your routine vaccinations and health checks for your safety and peace of mind.
Please ensure that you arrange medical or travel insurance prior to your travels in the unlikely event of an emergency.
Dream Big African Safaris is based in South Africa where the local currency is the South African Rand (ZAR). There are exchange bureaus available in all main airports and towns. We suggest exchanging some currency to Rands to purchase some curios/souvenirs. When traveling to other countries such as Botswana and Zimbabwe - US Dollars are accepted.
